This doll was found on Woodlawn avenue in Albany during one of my morning walks to campus. It was like someone was baiting me. I was completely captivated with this object. It without any manipulation from me does everything I want my work to do. That is it has a grotesque quality that begs for answers but doesn’t satisfy any inquiries. And the gaze!!! When I first found it the eyes were closed and when I picked it up the EYES OPENED!!! I was floored and completely in love. 

The case I constructed out of scrap wood and upholstered with fabric to hint at the dolls history but leaving its history intentionally enigmatic. This was the first time I applied tufting and padding to sculpture, it was a fun technical challenge to achieve.
